Cristina Martinez

     Cristina Martinez, 85, of Peoria, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2011, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

     A Funeral Liturgy will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011, at Clary Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue in Peoria, with Fr. Terry Cassidy officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in La Palma Nunicipio De Panuco in Vera Cruz, MX.

     Cristina was born in Ebano, San Luis Potosi, MX on July 24, 1925, a daughter of Alberto and Maria (Norberta) Martinez. She married Roman Fernandez, Sr. in Tampico. He preceded her in death, along with her parents and her oldest son, Roman Fernandez, Jr.

     She is survived by her children, Daniel (Leticia) Fernandez, Juana Araceli (Guadalupe) Perez and Juan Manuel (Carolina) Fernandez, all of Peoria, Hector (Carmen) Fernandez, Martha Luz (Bruno) Avila and Maria Cristina (Luis) Rosado, all of Tampico; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

     Cristina attended the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception and St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria.
